The international Mountain Troops community will be coming together in Grenoble, France, on 12 and 13 February for the International Mountain Troops Summit (SITM).
In association with the French Army’s 27th mountain infantry brigade (27e BIM).
More than 1,000 international decision makers and experts from the private and public sectors will share their visions and discuss current and future issues surrounding the themes of “living, moving and combat” in steep and/or mountainous environments and in extreme weather conditions.
The mountain troops community encompasses units from all over the world. The “27e BIM” entertains close relationships with its partners, notably from the Alpine arc (Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Italy), Europe (Spain, Germany, the UK, Norway, Finland, Georgia, Denmark, etc.) and more distant regions (Jordan, Lebanon, United Arab Emirates, Canada), offering particularly advantageous opportunities to share know-how and conduct joint mountain training exercises.

This high-profile event will bring together international decision-makers and experts from the private and public sectors to discuss the latest technical and technological breakthroughs, best practice in training, and opportunities for international cooperation. Two days of high-level professional meetings, aimed at tackling current and future challenges related to combat, complex logistics, restricted mobility, difficult communication and soldier health, in steep and/or mountainous environments, as well as in extreme climatic conditions due to very low temperatures.
